Muong Khuong is one of the most numerous caves in Lao
Cai. In which, Ham Rong Cave is one of the most beautiful caves of this district.
Ham Rong Cave is located right at the foot of Ham Rong mountain, Na Bu village, Tung Chung Pho commune, Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai ( now is Muong Khuong town), far way from the district’s center about 2 km.
Go along Tung Lau stream, visitors will be gazed with the mysterious beauty of Ham Rong Cave, harmony in peaceful, pictureque natural scenery. Tung Lau stream still maintain gentle flow of water around the mountain to creat “Pao Tung” waterfall – a famous beautiful waterfall in Muong Khuong.
Ham Rong cave complex includes 4 caves: Lung Pau Cave, Nam Ooc Cave, Muoi Ngua Cave and Cao Son Cave, in which, there are two main caves connecting with each other with the length about 750m.
Lung Pau Cave belongs to Tung Chung Pho commune and lies deeply in the heart of majestic limestone mountain. This is also where found out famous Pha Long bronze drum with the age up to 4000 years.
Nam Ooc belongs to Nam Lu commune with many stalactities, virtual statues. Come here on festivall occasions, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the festival, traditional games of ethnic minorities here.
Muoi Ngua Cave or Su Ma Tung Cave in Ta Ngai Cho commune is a beautiful cave in Ham Rong cave complex that visitors should not miss to visit.
Cao Son cave nestles in the heart of the towering limestone mountain. In the cave there are a lot of rocks with beautiful shapes like the terraced fields, agricultural production tools, tables, chairs ... It was not only a place where local troops had been fighting feudal Northern invaders but also was a base of operations against the French revolution, bandits in Muong Khuong and is a national security defense region – solidly protecting national frontiers in period of innovative country today.
Besides Ham Rong Cave, visitors who love nature can take a visit to Fairy mountain, Cao Son mountain or Cao Son Stilt house and many other interesting places.
